Downtown Albion's Halloween tradition, Scare on the Square, will return on Friday, October 27, 2023!
Square on the Square offers something for all ages to enjoy!
Trunk or Treat 5:30 - 7:30 PM
N York Street
Ghosts and goblins in search of treats will find them at Trunk or Treat on the west side of the square from 5:30 - 7:30 PM, or until gone. Be sure to visit the Haunted School Bus and Fire Truck! (Please do not solicit treats before 5:30 PM; allow time for our sponsors to arrive and set up before entering the area. This is for your safety and respects our sponsors' efforts. Thank you!) Want to hand out candy? Citizens, businesses, and organizations are invited to decorate a trunk, van, or truck bed and distribute Halloween treats to the children of our community - and compete for the "best decorations" $25 top prize! Participating vehicles will park along W Jefferson Street (north side) and N York Street (west side), filling Jefferson street first. Live Clue Game - Registration / Check-in opens at 5:30 PM
Bring your friends, family, coworkers, or club and play Albion's Live Clue Game! Teams will compete to be the first to solve a murder in downtown Albion. Teams will be challenged to determine where the victim died and which weapon was used. Visits to downtown businesses will reveal the clues! This activity is great fun for older children and adults. $25 to play, with a chance to win $50! Check your team in at the Annex entry/courtyard west of the Courthouse on N York Street.
Teams may also register in person beginning at 5:30 PM at the Annex courtyard.Game play begins at 6:00 PM and usually takes about an hour to 90 minutes to determine a winner. Dress comfortably to be outdoors and walking!
NEW! The Wicked Wonders Dark History & Oddities Museum
If you dare - explore this traveling museum full of dark history, oddities, and screen-used props and wardrobe from film and TV! Wicked Wonders loves preserving and sharing all parts of history from across the globe - no matter how much they may creep you out! The traveling museum will be located inside the Albion Opera House, home to Newman & Newman law offices on the north side of the square. Until then - stay wicked!
NEW! Scare Village
Join in a variety of fun activities at "Scare Village". Look for it near the entrance to the new Noble County Annex, located on the west side of the courthouse square. There, find Face Painting and more! Be sure to visit the Haunted School Bus, too - all brought to you by Central Noble Cougars!
Hogwarts Halloween 2023
Harry Potter enthusiasts will not want to miss the chance to visit the Noble County Public Library at Scare on the Square! Look for the activities at Celebration Station (alley) on the east side of the square. Please cross SR 9 (N Orange Street) at the stoplight, or at W. Jefferson Street. Do not attempt crossings in the middle of the block. Stay safe!)
