Another fun summer is coming to the Courthouse Square in historic downtown Albion, Indiana!
In addition to bringing back Albion's Market-on-the-Square, featuring locally grown fresh foods and artisan creations, the Albion STAR Team has planned a line-up of special events scheduled to take place around the square in 2023. Market details are expected to be announced soon.
The first special event of 2023 will be the Summer Kick-Off celebration on Friday, June 2. Car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts (other types of vehicles also welcomed) are encouraged to "Cruise In" for the fun. The always-popular and unique Albionopoly game, played by transforming the sidewalks around the courthouse to a life-sized game board, will be moved up in the seasonal schedule to the Summer Kick-Off to enable more activities for all ages to be combined. (Albionopoly has been played in late July in years past.)
Friday, June 7 will bring free Kiddie Games to the Chain O'Lakes Festival, courtesy of the STAR Team. Games for littles will be provided on the courthouse lawn.
Albion's Fall Celebration will return to the square on Saturday, September 16. Organizers hope to see this community celebration of the arrival of autumn grow even larger as the event returns for the third consecutive year. The Fall Celebration features vendors, food trucks, and more.
Christmas in the Village, sponsored by the Albion Chamber of Commerce, will bring Santa to town on Friday, December 1 via one of the region's most popular holiday events, the Christmas Lights Parade. The STAR Team plans to sponsor related activities on the square.
