ALBION — After an absence of three years, Albion S.T.A.R. Team is planning the return of Verandah Visits on Friday, September 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Four homeowners have agreed to be your hosts.
What are Verandah Visits?
The dictionary describes a verandah as: A porch or balcony, usually roofed and often partly enclosed, extending along the outside of a building.
During Albion’s Verandah Visits, the homeowners will welcome ticket holders to their porches for a visit. While there, visitors will learn about the history of the home, perhaps some information about former owners, and enjoy some light refreshments.
Featured verandahs are:
• The home of Sue Walker located at 218 East Highland Street
• The home of Corey and Shawn Hoover located at 411 North York Street
• The home of Scott and Abigail Lindsey located at 302 West Jefferson Street
• The home of Steve and Doris Likes located at 202 West Main Street
Visitors may visit the verandahs in any order they choose.
Tickets for 2016 Verandah Visits are $7 each and are available at Campbell & Fetter and Community State Banks in Albion through the close of business on Thursday, September 8th; and at each featured verandah during event hours on September 9th.
Verandah Visits are a First Friday event sponsored by Albion S.T.A.R. Team. Proceeds will be used to benefit future ST.A.R. projects such as the upcoming Fall Masquerade Dinner scheduled for October 15 at the Opera House.
